TVT is a Chinese company that manufactures various DVRs, NVRs and cameras which are sold re-branded worldwide. This company is so popular at the low-end CCTV market that there’s a high chance that your DVR is manufactured by them. You may have a TVT DVR but you don’t know because there’s no such inscription or logo on the recorder. Usually these DVRs are sold under other brand names such as H.264 DVR, QT DVR, Q-See DVR, analog DVR and numerous other brands. It seems obvious, but trying to use the DVR default password must be the first thing for a h.264 network reset password recovery attempt, since in many cases the original DVR’s password has never been changed. Check the DVR manufacturer’s manual or a password list for specific DVR models, the most common brands are Swann, Voyager and Dahua.

How to tell if your DVR is manufactured by TVT?

There’re a few simple ways to tell. For example check the main menu screen, if it’s the same as the one pictured below, then you have a TVT DVR (H.264 DVR) and you can use the method shown here to quickly reset the password.
Below is the main screen if you login on a TVT DVR via the web browser. If you see the same screen on your computer, then your H.264 DVR is made by TVT and you can use the procedure shown here to reset the password.
Or if your recorder has this red and yellow warning label on top of the DVR, then that’s an indication that you have a H.264 DVR. Check the picture below.

How to reset the password on H.264 DVR or TVT DVR

Step 1. Go directly to the TV/monitor connected to your H.264 DVR and bring up the login screen. Note: you need to use the monitor to reset the password, it won’t work if you try to reset remotely (or locally) through the web browser.
Step 2. Use the username and master password below to reset the password on your H.264/TVT DVR. Try both accounts and see which one works. If it works, the recorder will reboot.

Step 3. If the password reset went through, your recorder will reboot and when it’s back on you can try to login with the factory default account which for these recorders is username: admin and password: 123456.

If you have forgotten or lost the password for XMeye DVR, there’s an easy way to reset the password. This step by step guide will show all the steps you need to undertake in order to reset the password for your H.264 XMeye DVR (sometimes called HD iDVR or H264 DVR). In a few words, we will use a password generator to get the right super password.

These H.264 recorders are manufactured by Hangzhou Xiongmai Technology Co and are often sold under other brand names. This method will work and will reset the password, as long as the user interface of your recorder looks the same as the pictures below. Step 1. Go to your DVR and bring up the login screen.
Step 2. Click the ? icon to exit the extra settings.
Step 3. Write down the key number at the bottom left of the screen.
Step 4. Download CCTV Super Password app. If you can’t find the app through the store on your phone, you can download the CCTV Super Password on this link or on Google Play Store link. Once the app is installed on your phone, enter the key code (the so called “safe code”).
Step 5. The tool will generate a master password, in our case the master password is 335377.
Step 6. Enter the master password to the recorder.
The XMeye HD iDVR will reboot. Once the machine is back online the old (forgotten) password will be erased. Login by using the username admin and leave the password box empty (blank).

Note: If you can’t Reset password with password like above, Please power off and remove pin CMOS (on motherboard), after power on and login with User: admin, Password: NpSZOo.
